EPD – ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is voluntary and applicable to all products and services. It allows the organization obtaining it to position its products distinctly in the market, to meet the requirements of the environmental procurement policies of large purchasing groups, and to strengthen its reputation as a company committed to sustainability.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a labeling conforming to the requirements of the International EPD© Program managed by the Swedish Environmental Management Council (SENCo). The EPD Program© follows the ISO 14025 standard.
The EPD declaration is voluntary and applicable to all products and services regardless of their use or position in the production chain. The Declaration is an information and communication tool among producers, distributors, and consumers that can be used by organizations that wish to:
- differentiate their products/services by providing detailed information on their environmental impact. In particular:
- for semi-finished products, provide customers with information to calculate the environmental impact of their products of which the semi-finished product is an integral part;
- for consumer products/services, provide information to make informed purchasing choices;
- demonstrate that the products meet the requirements contained in the environmental procurement policies of large purchasing groups (e.g., Public Administration, Large Retailers, etc.);
- implement a system for continuous improvement of the environmental quality of the products.
Additionally, the quality management system of NEW COLOR S.r.l. has been verified and found to be compliant with the requirements of ISO 9001 / UNI EN ISO 9001:2015.
